Story Time!

 

Story Time started September 10 and 11. (but there is still 6 more weeks and room for you!)

Mondays at 10:00 am and 4:00 pm

Tuesdays at 10:00 am

Story Time is for ages 3-7. We read a story, play games and create crafts. Did I mention we have snack?!? Sign up begins this week. Spots fill up quickly, so call us at 982-4773 or visit the library to sign up. You can also email us at youthservices@nman.lib.in.us with the subject line "Story Time" and we will get your name on the list!

Happy Halloween!

Join the library for our 5th annual Halloween Party on Friday, October 26 from 2:00- 3:00 pm in the library basement! Come dressed in your best costume and be prepared for fun! There will be games, crafts and treats for all ages! This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Fantastic Fun Club!

It's that time again! Fantastic Fun Club is back for the fall. Join us for this after school program full of games, cooking, science experiments and fun! FFC meets on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 3:45- 4:45pm and is open to all kids in grades K-5. Sign up in the Children's Department or by calling us at 982-4773.

How to Play?

Blob is a game of tag that keeps on GROWING.
First, choose a blob.
Next, the other players run and try not to get tagged by the blob.
When the blob tags another player, they join hands a create a larger blob.
The last person to get caught is the blob in the next round.

Summer Reading Program 2012

Books take you Anywhere!


Summer Reading Program 2012 is about to begin! Are you ready for a summer full of books, prizes, fun programs and even picnics on the library lawn? We are working very hard here at the library getting ready for the new Summer Reading Program. Miss Nancy has the game board finished, Ms Heidi is working very hard on the boards and all of the fun decor and Miss Victoria is planning all of the fun you are going to have this summer at the library! Come visit us and watch the progress take place. The Summer Reading Program theme this year is "Books take you Anywhere." Have you ever wanted to visit France or even the moon? Maybe you would love to travel back in time to the civil war era? You can do this and more when you pick up a book. Your imagination is your only limitations.The game starts Wednesday, May 30. See you there!

North Manchester goes Green



North Manchester Goes Green is a free Earth Day event, sponsored by the North Manchester Public Library, to educate the citizens of North Manchester about the importance of preserving the future through green lifestyles. Come to this event to learn what you can do to help save the planet, even in our small town. There will be games and crafts for the kids throughout the day. Learn how to make paper beads, plant a seedling and make TP tube art.  All ages are welcome! For more information on the event, contact the library at 982-4773.

Weather Experiments

Today is a very windy day. While trying to come up with some wonderful ideas to keep you busy while inside, I thought, why not go outside and learn! Have you ever wonder what wind is? You can't see it, but you can feel it. Where causes wind to happen? Are there different types of wind? Click on the word WIND! to find out the answers to all of these questions and more. Story Time Spots?


Need to get out a Story Time spot? Use Dawn dishsoap to pre-treat your stain and wash the material as usual. Tough stain? Pre-treat the spot and soak the material over night. Wash as usual the next day. Please remember that this does not get all stains out, but it does work for most!

Sick Kid Kits

Did you know that the Children's Department offers Sick Kid Kits? They are a great distraction for your sick ones. These kits include: coloring pages, a magazine, games and we can even check out materials for you. In order to get a sick kid kit call us at 982-4773 and tell us your childs age and gender!
